The Georgia Gardens

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

When we moved into our house in Georgia, we had a large lot next to us that was a barren scrape of Georgia clay half-heartedly covered with pine straw. We heard one of the reasons that our property didn’t sell was because people thought the property was too close and didn’t want a house so close to them. It only took a glance at the plot sheet to know that the lot was actually part of the property.

For over a year we looked at, thought about and measured the area Then the construction began. Almost two years later, 20,000 lbs of Tennessee field stone, fencing, and everything else you can imagine, we had a series of classic gardens. While we no longer live here, we still consider it one of our great accomplishments to date. The gardens offered years of wonderful memories.

Much like we chronicle our current life, we don’t want to forget some of the great places we’ve been.
